Does my child need prior musical experience?

Not at all! SBP welcomes students who are brand new to music. Students will learn the fundamentals of their instrument while developing the skills needed to play as part of a band.

Does my child need to own an instrument?

No. Families will receive information about instrument options and what is needed for their child’s participation. We’ll help guide you through what to purchase or rent so you’re not left guessing.

Question 3

Does band enrollment take the place of private lessons?

No, SBP does not operate like a private lesson instructor. Your child will be a part of group lessons based on instrument and grade level, working towards Winter and Spring performances.If your child is already receiving private lessons, that's great! We encourage children to continue this, although it is not a requirement.

What does the commitment look like?

Students participate in regularly scheduled rehearsals throughout the program. Consistent attendance is important because students learn not only their individual parts, but also how to perform together as an ensemble.

How does tuition work?

You’ll select your preferred payment plan during enrollment. Tuition is automatically billed according to the plan you choose. A $25 non-refundable registration fee is due at enrollment to secure your child’s spot. This fee is separate from tuition.

Once your enrollment is submitted, you’ll receive confirmation with the next steps. Your first tuition payment will be processed according to the payment schedule you selected, and you’ll receive the information you need to get your child ready for the program.
